When my friend Cheryl Clifford, who is an interior arranger working out of her own 1920's Craftsman home in The Broadmoor, told me about her new business, A New View - Interior Enhancement by Cheryl, I was quite intrigued. She offered to makeover my living room. Of Course, I had some doubts! I told her that I didn't think there was a whole lot she could do with the living room I had been living with for years. She assured me she could give me a whole new room, without me having to buy anything new! Cheryl came to the house and looked over the room, asked me some questions regarding how I use the room, and discussed any special needs or wants I had: were there any treasures I had with special meaning that I wanted to have displayed; and was it okay for her to "shop" the house? I told her I didn't think there was anything else in the house that she could use but she could certainly try. The transformation day came. Cheryl arrived with her assistant and I went off to work. She told me to give her a call when I was on my way and that she wanted me to come in through the front door. Later that day... Cheryl had transformed my living room into a totally new room! Everything was different - the furniture was in new locations and the room was larger, lighter, and more charming! Many of my treasures were showcased, including some that had spent years hidden in cupboards. I had not purchased a single thing other than Cheryl's expertise, and I had a whole new room to enjoy. I guess sometimes you don't realize how wonderful it is to have your own things - ones which you spent time picking out and loving for years - be showcased in a way you never imagined. Instead of having an interior designer come in and say you need to buy this or that, Cheryl affirms the choices you have made for yourself and gives you a new view with those choices.
